Rachael
Born and raised in Calgary, Rachael discovered her love of performing through competitive dance. From there, she delved into Musical Theatre, becoming a singer in the Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede.
Recently, Rachael graduated from the University of Calgary with her BA/BED in drama and education, and a teacher with a passion for dance and voice, and enjoys performing in her free time.
At times you may also see her performing as a Birthday Princess, but don't let that fool you ... this girl is all Rock and Roll!

Tina Marie
Co-fronting The CONTRABAND is Tina Marie. Born and raised in North Carolina, she has been stealing the spotlight since she could walk - and definitely since she started singing at the age of three. With a voice that can swing you though a smoky jazz club or light up a Broadway stage, she brings boldness, sparkle, and serious soul to every performance.
When she's not belting out showstoppers, Tina is tearing it up at the roller rink, proving she has the moves on and off the stage.
Ever bringing a bit of fire to the group, Tina isnt just singing, she serving vocals, attitude, and a whole lot of heart

NAVARRO
Multi-instrumentalist Navarro joined The CONTRABAND in 2020. As a born and raised East Coaster, Navarro's 30+ years of musical experience has had him playing in a variety of bands and duos with no genre left unturned.
Besides performing with The CONTRABAND, you can catch Navarro on upright and electric bass with the very popular YYC Music Award nominees Steel & Timber.
When you come to our show you will instantly hear how his tight rhythms intensify the groups dynamics.

TERRY
Always with a smile on his face, it is no surprise that Terry is one guitar player that really lights up the stage, as well as the strings. Terry has had a guitar in his hands since he was twelve years old and played in his first gigging band at the age of fifteen.
Inspired by the likes of Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Billy Gibbons and Joe Walsh he adds yet another potent element to the band, consistent with the band’s talent and professionalism.

BRIAN
Brian became passionate about music when he discovered KISS. He started playing drums in his late teens in a variety of original and cover bands. When it came time to raise a family, the sticks were on the shelf for a while.
Now, back at it, he brings rock authenticity and energy to The CONTRABAND, with influences like John Bonham, Phil Rudd, and Tommy Lee.
Always up for a challenge, he enjoys being part of The CONTRABAND, with a wide variety of music and a fun vibe.

Ricardo
Originally from Mexico and now based in Calgary, a musician with over 20 years of experience across a wide range of genres, especially rock, ska, and reggae. Throughout his career he has performed at major festivals in Mexico and had the honor of opening for legendary bands like Panteon, Rococo, El Tri, Celso Pina, and El Gran Silencio.
A true multi-instrumentalist, Ricardo has recorded for various bands, contributing everything from guitars to saxophones, always bringing versatility and passion to each project.
Alongside being the keyboardist for The CONTRABAND, he is also working on his solo project, Riithium, where he composes and performs original music, blending his experience as a multi-instrumentalist and diverse influences that have shaped his musical journey.

RONI
Roni is a powerhouse bassist with deep roots in the Calgary music scene. A seasoned pro with decades of experience, he has been laying down solid grooves across genres and stages, earning a reputation for reliability, feel, and tone. You have probably seen him in action with a variety of well-known local acts over the years - his name is a familiar one to anyone who follows live music in the city.
Whether it is roc, funk, blues, or beyond, Roni brings a level of polish and musicality that anchors the band and elevates the sound. We are thrilled to have him holding down the low end for The CONTRABAND!
